It is nasty, and it is officially called Lyme Borreliosis. It is one of the most common tick-transmitted diseases in the world but only causes symptoms in 5-10% of affected dogs. Since the symptoms do not always appear it is even more important that these ticks are eliminated from your property.
You try to check Bella every time she comes in from the outside but sometimes maybe you forget. And how effective are we looking for a small brown tick on a hairy brown or black dog? Tough duty and yet your dog’s health and perhaps his life depends on your effectiveness. Doesn’t it make sense to just make sure the ticks don’t even exist on your property?
Furthermore, ticks on your #pets can be a danger to you. Animal fur can act like a “tick magnet.” You may be exposed to ticks when you snuggle with your cat or dog, or when you ride your horse. Difficulty breathing
Fever, lack of appetite and depression
Kidney failure begins to exhibit by vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, weight loss, increased urination, thirst and abnormal fluid buildups.
Keep in mind that a very small percentage of dogs even show symptoms and may yet still have been infected by ticks. The tick only needs to be on your best friend for two days!

Most dogs with a sudden onset of the symptoms respond quite well to antibiotics and begin recovering from their lameness and fever within five days. The prognosis for these dogs is good, however, the symptoms can return. If they do, it usually is several weeks to months after their first bout of symptoms. Subsequent episodes should respond equally well to treatment with oral antibiotics and should occur with decreasing frequency over time.
The prognosis for dogs that develop kidney problems from Lyme disease is guarded to poor. Unfortunately, sometimes their life expectancy is only days to weeks after their illness is diagnosed.
