How often should Seasonal Tick and Flea Spray be applied?

  • Bugs & Blades applies every 2-7 weeks depending on type of product used for seasonal spraying or customer preference.

What types of bugs does the product protect from?

  • Annual bluegrass weevils (adult), ants, aphids, armyworms, bagworms, black turfgrass ataenius beetles, bluegrass billbugs, chinch bugs, cutworms, emerald ash borers, fungus gnats, grasshoppers, lace bugs, leaf-feeding beetles (adults and larvae), scale insects (crawlers), sod webworms, spiders, thrips and ticks

 

Why does Bugs & Blades use only backpack misters?

  • From our 20+ years experience, only backpack misters are able to hit where ticks live - leaf litter, overgrown shrubs, ornamental plantings, wood piles, paths, woodsy areas, perimeters, etc...

 

How will my family and pets be affected?

  • Bugs & Blades uses NON-TOXIC, kid-safe product. We offer traditional as well as organic/Kosher product

 

How long does it take for the spray to dry?

  • Dry times for any spray application is 15-30 minutes able to be enjoyed once dry.

 

Can Bugs & Blades completely eliminate all the Ticks and outdoor pests on my property?

  • We guarantee that our service will reduce mosquitoes, ticks, and other outdoor pests by 85% to 95%. If you aren't fully satisfied, we will re-treat free of charge. Since ticks and the other outdoor pests are mobile, we cannot guarantee 100% protection.

 

What towns do you service?

  • As of 2018, Bugs & Blades only services the 3 W's - Weston, Westport, and Wilton

 

Will the product have a smell after application?

  • In most cases, the product that Bugs & Blades uses won't have a residual aroma. If a garlic additive is used, any residual aroma will dissipate within 1-4 hours. 

 

Why is the pesticide marker left on my property and what information does it explain?

  • The State of Connecticut requires an application marker be left on all properties serviced regardless of organic or technical material. It states the date applied, who applied the product, and Bugs & Blades contact phone number.

 

How do I make an appointment for a FREE consultation?

  • You can contact Bugs & Blades on our web form, phone, text, facebook messenger, or other social media outlets for a consult. Bugs & Blades ALWAYS make time for our family of clients. Your health and well-being are IMPORTANT.

 

When do you service properties?

  • Bugs & Blades sprays between 8:00am and 6:00pm, M-F. Saturdays and Sunday are by special request only.

 

Do I need to be home when you are servicing my property?

  • The great thing about our services - you don't need to be on premise. Bugs & Blades send a message (email, text, messenger) follow-up upon application completion. 

 

What types of Ticks does your product kill?

  • We tested against both male and female ticks of each species: Brown Dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus), American Dog ticks (Dermacentor variabilis), Lone Star ticks (Amblyomma americanum) and Deer ticks (Ixodes scapularis).

 

Why is payment processed immediately after service?

  • Your payment represents your understanding that we came to your property for the services and the charges listed on your invoice. A licensed applicator and certified material are scheduled and reserved for your property once we confirm the appointment 3 days prior.

 

Does Bugs & Blades use outside contractors?

  • Every applicator is a Bugs & Blades employee - NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

Does Bugs & Blades service commercial or municipal accounts?

  • Yes - We work with municipal and business leaders to customize treatment options that meet a facility’s unique needs - including dining patios, parks, beaches, special events, schools, and much more.

 

Is there a trip charge or rescheduling fee?

  • Yes - any cancelations must be completed at least 24hrs in advance of any scheduled spraying. A 75% cancelation fee will be charged for any services scheduled.

 

What weather-related conditions prohibit Bugs & Blades from Spraying?

  • Bugs & Blades will reschedule during wind conditions greater than 10mph and considerable rainfall at time of application. As long as the product has had about 30 minutes to dry, product efficacy is not compromised.
